THEATER IM WIND was formed in 1977 by Anne and Enno Podehl, following a class project at Braunschweig University, during which Mr. Podehlıs class in art history decided to create a puppet play based on Dürers images they were studying (Drei Rote Faden, 1978). The groupıs second production, Theater uber Theater, for four performers, deals, like Hermann, with the subject of ordinary people coping with oppression. Hermann, their third puppet production for adult audiences, has been performed in festivals throughout Europe and in Israel. It was one of the featured performances at the 1985ıs World Puppet Festival in Charleville-Mézèieres, France. Mr. Podehl was born in 1944 in East Prussia. His wife was born in Westphalia in 1949.
